Senior Lab Scientist

Plinius Labs is scaling up. To accelerate our roadmap in sustainable ingredients for cosmetics and food, we’re hiring a Senior Lab Scientist who thrives in a hands-on lab environment and knows how to translate R&D into repeatable, scalable operations. This is a high-ownership role at the interface of experimentation, analytical validation, and pre-pilot execution.
Your impact
Drive lab-to-pre-pilot scale-up activities for lignocellulosic biomass conversion
Build robust, reproducible protocols that stand up to customer timelines and scale-up constraints
Execute and interpret analytical work to validate process performance and product quality
Keep projects on-track through structured planning, prioritisation, and clear coordination
Collaborate closely with internal teams and specialised customers to deliver reliable outcomes
What you bring
5–10 years of experience in an R&D and analytical lab (industry or applied research)
Strong hands-on background with lignocellulosic biomass (or similarly complex natural feedstocks)
Solid practical capability with analytical techniques, including GC, HPLC, UV-Vis, IR
An organised, proactive working style - comfortable in a scale-up context with shifting priorities
A delivery mindset: focused execution, clear documentation, and consistent follow-through
